About the Position
The Senior Associate independently assists with research and writing, data analysis, and data visualization. The Senior Associate is responsible for researching, drafting, and editing, sections of economic and policy reports, and is required to identify, analyze, and manage data to further research goals. To complete these goals, the Senior Associate works with both a research and design team. This requires the Senior Associate to collaborate with senior economists and policy professionals on research and analysis, and to collaborate with a data visualization team to design initial chart mock-ups in Excel and infographic wireframes in Adobe Creative Suite. While working on deliverables, the Senior Associate will have the opportunity to work closely with a senior team of The MacroDyn Group’s experienced economists, policy development professionals, researchers, and communications experts.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in economics, mathematics, statistics, data science, or related field
1-3 years of professional experience in a related quantitative or qualitative field
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to download, clean, and prepare data
Competency in Adobe Creative Suite or comparable graphic design packages
Introductory understanding of STATA or a programming language such as Python or R
Experience with independently planning and executing short-term projects
Desirable Qualifications
Master’s degree in economics, data science, or a related field
Prior experience working on design, publications, marketing, and data science teams embedded within an academic research or public-policy organization
Fluency in R (ggPlot package), Tableau, Python, HTML, CSS, D3.JS, or Microsoft Power BI
Prior experience operating DSLR Camera or possess video editing skills using Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro
